The Zone consists of four local Lions clubs who all worked together to organise a wonderful day for the children of our local community. The clubs participating were the Lions Clubs of Fairlop; Wanstead & Woodford; London Seven Kings; and Barking

Easter Monday April 21st 2014 saw the sun streaming down, on the second Zone B Duck Race and Easter Egg Hunt. The Mayor of Redbridge Cllr Felicity Banks joined members from the four local Lions Clubs, some Leos, the VDG Ramesh, Lion Ravina and ZC Paul for the event. Almost 80 disadvantaged children with their parents and carers descended on the Hargreaves Scout Camp for an afternoon of fun.

First point of call registration then over to the Craft Tables to enter the colouring competition, to decorate an Easter egg, draw pictures and complete word searches. The Leos organised the tattoos and soon almost every child and some adults had faces, arms and even legs tattooed with eggs, bugs and fairies.

When everyone was assembled the race was on to find the plastic eggs to exchange for chocolate ones.

Wanting to be involved VDG Ramesh ably took charge of the Egg & Spoon Race and even managed to persuade the Mayor to take part. Whilst the races were taking place a small committee chose the winners of the various competitions.

After light refreshments and drinks it was time for the highlight of the afternoon -the Duck Race. Every person was given a numbered plastic duck and everyone went down to the Cub stream to watch. The Leos started the race with a mass avalanche of yellow ducks. Everyone stood along the bank laughing and cheering their duck home.

Back to the Scout Hall for prize distribution with every child receiving an Easter Egg and extra ones for the winners
