This is one of our most popular events as it gives all our club members, their friends and family the opportunity to contribute and participate in raising funds and enjoying it in the process. It ia an event that we have done since our inception.

This is a wonderful family day out especially if the weather is kind to us! Not only do we get fitter by doing the walk but also enjoy some wonderful Indian food throughout the day. We have a semi private area within the park and will have 2 marquees erected with tables and chairs also provided.

The walk is 10km along a canal and is very scenic on a good day. After the walk we indulge in a variety of hot and cold Vegetarian and non-vegetarian Indian food, some of which is cooked at the site fresh on the day.

The walk itself begins around 10.30am and before that some breakfast in the form of Indian snacks and hot tea or soft drinks is served. Following this you will then do the walk which will take approx. 2-3 hours- depending on how fast you walk!

While you are walking the main lunch will be prepared which will consist of non- veg and vegetarian items around 1pm. We will endeavour to have some games and activities for small children as well as Bingo for the adults!

The day normally concludes around 5pm leaving you enough time to recover before work on Monday- well for most of us that is!

Charity Walk 2014

It is normally for the President to decide who will benefit from the funds. Our most recent walk in 2014 raised just over £7k for Parkinson’s disease. A special thank you to Sangeeta Bhandari who raised £5k from her own efforts at very short notice. Sangeeta herself suffers from Parkinson’s as does our very own Lion Satpal Chana who was President last year.
