Vaisakhi Dinner & Dance
This is our premier event of the year and held to raise monies to fund the two eye camps we stage in India during February and March.
Our Lions organisation is a world leader in the prevention and cure of blindness and the Lions of Fairlop remain very committed to this cause. A few of our members every year travel to India at their own cost to help partake in this annual pilgrimage and deliver the funding that pays for the cataracts operations and supply of lenses and eye glasses.
Annual Charity Walk
Another popular annual fund raising event. Not just a sponsored walk to raise much needed funds for worthy causes, but a wonderful family day out for members, their families, friends and Lions members from other clubs as we enjoy food throughout the day, some of which is cooked fresh on site at Lee Valley Park in Cheshunt Essex.
Diwali Function
This event was held in October 2011 at The Elmbridge Club in Hainault to raise funds for Breast Cancer. The event itself was a success and we managed to raise the £5000 required to purchase the machine. The hospital are now in the process of finalizing a date for the presentation of the machine which will be made at the hospital premises in Goodmayes Ilford.
Can Support
The golf tournament was held during the day arranged by Lion Brijesh to raise funding for CanSupport, a Charity in India that he has been supporting for some years. CanSupport provides home care and palliative care to patients with cancer
